Thermador Dishwasher Will Not Fill
However, a defective floating switch is usually what causes the overflowing of a dishwasher.
This can also happen even when all the connections among the plumbing are just fine.
If you determine your dishwasher’s float switch to have failed, it will need to be replaced with one of similar size and brand specifications.
To allow water into the dishwasher, the water inlet valve opens. The valve shuts off once the dishwasher is full.
If there is something blocking the valve, water will not go into the machine and it will fill up with water and overflow.
If you notice that your dishwasher isn’t filling up with water, be sure to check your float level and make sure there’s nothing blocking it from rising up.
Thermador Dishwasher Will Not Latch
Inspect the door strike assembly to ensure that it can fulfill its intended purpose. If the door strike is broken, check whether it’s repairable by replacing parts of it in an attempt to restore its capabilities.
If there are no available repair solutions, then you must simply replace the broken part.
Inspect the door latch for damage. If it is broken, replace it. It is not repairable if it is bent or otherwise damaged because the whole area needs to be replaced entirely.
Thermador Dishwasher Will Not Start
The thermal fuse is designed to turn off the dishwasher power when the unit starts to overheat. If the thermal fuse has blown, it should be replaced so that the dishwasher can work again.
To determine if the thermal fuse is faulty, use a multimeter and check for continuity. If there isn’t any continuity present where you’re testing, replace it with a new fuse.
A door switch is usually found on dishwashers. The door switch makes sure the dishwasher runs only when the door is closed.
When you installed your dishwasher, you plugged this into its socket. Your door switch will stop passing electricity if it burns out, regardless of whether the door is actually opened or not.
Therefore, if the door switch is faulty, you need to use a multimeter to check that it can pass an electric current if your dishwasher doesn’t run.
You may have a blown-out wire in the appliance’s wiring – so turn off all power before inspecting your wires with a multi-meter.
Thermador Dishwasher Will Not Drain

The dishwasher drain pump uses an impeller to force water through the drain hose. If the dishwasher’s drain pump doesn’t work, the dishwasher won’t drain.
To find out if the dishwasher’s pump motor is defective, check for continuity using a multimeter. If the motor doesn’t have continuity or is getting power but isn’t running, replace it with a new dishwasher drain pump.
Dishwashers don’t repair their pumps if your dishwasher’s pump is defective, you’ll need to get a replacement.
Thermador Dishwasher Will Not Clean
The wash impeller is a small plastic blade that assists in forcing water up through the arms of your dishwasher.
A dishwasher can be considered broken if the impeller’s fins are damaged or if it is no longer attached to the washing arm assembly.
A faulty wash impeller can be replaced independently from the pump and motor assembly – search for your model number to determine your specific part availability.
If the wash impeller cannot be replaced independently, you will need to replace both the pump and motor assembly as they are connected like a two-piece puzzle.
Circulation pumps use motors and impellers to force water up through wash arms. The dishes won’t be cleaned properly if the circulation pump is defective; if the motor isn’t making any noise after the dishwasher fills, it may be burned out.
You should see a red light on your circuit breaker box if power gets to the motor. A second step would be to check for any impurities inside the pump housing to see how well the impeller can turn.
Chances are you need a new motor if you’re getting power where it needs to go but no impurities are visible in the pump chamber.
You should only attempt this task if you are fully aware of what you are doing and have the tools and parts to do it properly because it might require some special tools and parts.
